Athlete of the Week

March 20th 2017

Joseph King

Joseph is a sophomore this year, on the Woodside Boys Baseball Varsity team, playing both pitcher and catcher. He's played ball for ten years and is on the NorCal Club team. After high school he says he'd like to play baseball "anywhere that takes me". Joseph likes to hit dingers (home runs) in practice and of course, in games, and his batting average is currently .440. Defensively, his "pop" time (catcher's throw time from home to second to nail a stealing runner) is only 1.9 seconds. In his spare time Joseph enjoys hanging out with his teammates, and sleeping! His goals for this year are to do well in school and to continue playing well.
